About Me
I started baking cakes in February 2002 when I made my first character cake for our son, Maksim, who was turning 3 years old. I went and bought the Elmo cake pan. Without any training, I followed the "Wilton" directions and made my first cake. Elmo looked pretty good and I was "hooked on cakes."
After taking many cake decorating classes, I started Sharon's Sweet Treats in Charlotte, NC in June 2002 with the support of many friends who requested that I start making their cakes. Since then, I have been making character cakes; special order cakes for birthdays, baby showers, baptisms; cookie-on-the-stick bouquets; cupcake cakes; and large 14" cookie cakes.
